Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Soldiers Party

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.

Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season are included.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.

This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might seem unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the party understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The antagonist then settled his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the party enter locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.

This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.

What’s Next?

From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Planners parties.

Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
